"Back in September, the Titans were good enough to beat the Ravens, one of the AFC's best teams.
At the end of the 2011 season, they had also played poorly enough to lose to the NFL's worst team, the Indianapolis Cots.
In between, however, the Titans ended up exceeding the expectations of most outsiders. They made the season interesting into the final weekend, only to be left home from the playoffs with a 9-7 record.
"We are happy with a lot of things we did during the season,'' Coach Mike Munchak said. "But obviously the bottom line is to make the playoffs … and we didn't accomplish that. That's something that we were disappointed with because our expectations were that high."
Now, the Titans must turn their attention to 2012."
