Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has denied reports that Cristiano Ronaldo could leave the club this summer.

Ronaldo, 28, has two years left on his Madrid contract and Real would have to cash in this year if they were not to lose him for a cut-price fee in 12 months' time.

He has been strongly linked with a return to Manchester United, as well as big-spending Paris Saint-Germain, but Ancelotti is confident the £80 million world-record signing will agree a new deal and not leave the Bernanbeu four years after swapping the Premier League for La Liga.

"Everyone knows that he is a superstar and a great player," Ancelotti told the media in Spain before the team flies to England to play AFC Bournemouth in their first pre-season friendly of the summer. "The most important thing for the club is that a player of his quality shows the utmost professionalism.
