Danny Amendola might have shown up on the New England Patriots' injury report as being limited (groin) which is something he’s been managing since playing 20 snaps in an Aug. 16 preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but it shouldn’t affect his availability for Sunday’s season opener.

On Wednesday Amendola echoed something he’s said in recent weeks: He’s champing at the bit to play in the regular season.

“I’m sick of talking about it I just want to go play to be honest with you” he said. “I’m excited about getting out there. I’m just ready to go.”

In the preseason when the first-unit offense was on the field Amendola hardly came off the field in the two games he played. In that sense he’s stepped in to the role Wes Welker mostly held from 2007-2012.

On Wednesday Amendola reflected on the work the offense has put in going back to the spring and concluded “As a whole we’re ready. I just feel like we’re trying to have a good week of preparation and get on the same page and go from there."
