Buster Posey is set to make the All-Star team Sunday as the Giants' catcher, which is ironic as it now looks as though he catches for only three of the team's five starters.
Hector Sanchez has caught for Barry Zito all season, and now it looks as if the rookie will be behind the plate again Tuesday when Tim Lincecum starts. Sanchez has caught Lincecum's last two appearances, and the pitcher has lowered his ERA to 5.60 with 12 straight scoreless innings.
The Tuesday game against the Nationals begins at 6:35 p.m. Eastern time, with Wednesday's game starting at 11:05 a.m. - another reason Posey will probably catch only Madison Bumgarner that second day.
"I know the scenario," manager Bruce Bochy said. "Whoever catches the first one will not catch the second one."
