The Manchester United boss has been quoted a £25million signing-on fee for the Arsenal striker, who will be a free agent next summer.

Sanchez cannot sign an official pre-contract with the Red Devils until the new year as it is an internal transfer between two clubs in the Premier League.

But an agreement could be put in place for the deal to go through.

City tried to get Sanchez in the summer but had a final bid of £60m rejected.

The Chile superstar, 28, wanted the switch to the Etihad but his advisers also sounded out United at the time.

Many at City were surprised boss Pep Guardiola went for Sanchez in the summer, given that would mean dropping one of Sergio Aguero or Gabriel Jesus.
