Liverpool have joined the list of clubs who have expressed an interest in Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The 22-year-old has scored 17 goals this season and has also been watched by Newcastle, Arsenal and Juventus while Everton made an enquiry earlier this year.

Lacazette, who scored against Bastia at the weekend, has a contract with Lyon until 2016 and the club have claimed he will stay for at least another season.

But the French side are vulnerable to offers as they have financial problems.

Liverpool are weighing up numerous targets as they prepare to bolster their squad for Europe next season with the prospect of a return to Champions League football set to help them attract bigger names.

Meanwhile, Stoke City manager Mark Hughes says he wants to sign loanee Oussama Assaidi on a permanent deal from Liverpool this summer.

Hughes is also keen on teenage striker Petros Skapetis at Queens Park Rangers. The 19-year-old Australian is out of contract this summer.
