The Avalanche got bad news Tuesday morning: Alex Tanguay, the valuable left winger, has had a setback in his recovery from a knee injury and is back to being listed as out indefinitely.

Avs coach Patrick Roy said Tanguay has developed an injury to his hip, which he believes is related to the knee injury.

"Right now, it's not good," Roy said. "He had a setback. We don't know when he'll be back."

Asked if Tanguay might need surgery, Roy said: "I don't know. I'm not a doctor. We'll let our medical staff decide that, but it's not good."
