"Fittingly for two men who weren't on the same page Thursday night, wide receiver Braylon Edwards and quarterback Alex Smith took different approaches after a 16-6 loss to the Ravens.
Smith met with reporters and discussed his lone interception - a deep throw to Edwards in the end zone that was grabbed by Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb late in the second quarter.
In contrast, Edwards, who finished with one catch for 5 yards, wasn't in the mood to rehash his evening. Edwards, who has been targeted eight times in the past two weeks, has only one catch during that span.
"I'm cool," he said when approached by reporters. "I'll talk Monday."
Smith said the interception was a result of miscommunication.
Trailing 6-3, the 49ers had a first down at the Ravens' 35-yard line with 18 seconds left in the first half. Smith spotted Edwards, covered one-on-one by Webb, running down the right sideline and thought he would cut inside Webb toward the middle of the end zone. Instead, Edwards broke to the right corner.
"As I let it go, he goes outside, and all the sudden, he's outside with the DB inside," Smith said. "Miscommunication. It costs us.""
