"Nick Swisher received some good news on his injured left elbow Saturday, but the other Yankee injury news was far from good concerning Alex Rodriguez.

Rodriguez missed Saturday night's game and will miss the series finale Sunday as well as the first game or two in Seattle as his sprained left thumb continues to give him problems.

An MRI taken on Swisher's elbow Friday night revealed no structural damage, though the right fielder remained out of action last night with inflammation in the joint.

"Anytime you go for an MRI, you don't know; I've never really had pains in my elbow," Swisher said. "It's a bummer, because right now, you want to be in there every day. Everyone is tired, everyone is going through their aches and pains, but you definitely want to try and be out there. Right now, we have to relax a little bit. We just need to chill for a couple days.""
