The Buffalo Bills just added a big body to the interior of their defensive line.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that defensive tackle Alan Branch has signed a contract worth $3 million, plus up to $350,000 in incentives. The contract information was provided by Blake Baratz, Branch's agent. The Bills later confirmed Branch's signing.

"It's kind of a prove-it year," Branch said during his introductory news conference at Bills headquarters. "I gotta go out there and show my work if I want to have a job with these guys or whoever wants to get me next.

"My whole thing is, if I got a chance to bet on myself, I'm going to choose me every time because I know what I'm capable of."

Branch, 28, likely will serve as a situational run defender who'll see time behind starting tackles Marcel Dareus and Kyle Williams.
