A day after being named the Western Conference player of the week, Al Jefferson is closing in on the most monumental point in his career.

If Big Al and the Utah Jazz can beat the Phoenix Suns in tonight's TNT showdown at EnergySolutions Arena, Jefferson's team will be headed to the playoffs.

"It's the biggest game of my career," Jefferson admitted this morning after Utah's shootaround.

Jefferson hasn't been to the playoffs since his rookie season with Boston in 2005, and he was only a bench contributor for the Celtics at that point.

"It's exactly what I thought it (NBA) was going to be," Jefferson said of the fact the Jazz are in the playoff mix this late in the season. "It just feels good to be a part of it and be one of the main guys."
