Al Harrington wanted to be in town and working out with his new teammates at Verizon Center but still hasn't shown up because of a medical emergency in the family.

Harrington who was signed to a one-year deal at the veteran minimum of $1.4 million by the Wizards earlier this month after he was waived by the Orlando Magic was hopeful he could help organize a mini-camp at Verizon Center before the team starts training camp Sept. 28.

Instead John Wall Martell Webster and rookies Otto Porter and Glen Rice have been working out there this week.
