"The Celtics made roster moves this summer believing that Rasheed Wallace was going to retire, despite constant speculation that he was reconsidering. Team president Danny Ainge appeared convinced Wallace was done.
Yesterday, Wallace's agent, Bill Strickland, said that his NBA career is indeed over, ending a tumultuous 15-year run.
Wallace did not provide the type of frontcourt depth expected during the regular season, but he turned into an asset in the playoffs and started Game 7 of the NBA Finals because of a knee injury to Kendrick Perkins. Wallace scored 11 points and had eight rebounds before fouling out of the 83-79 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers."
