"Redskins wide receiver Santana Moss said Saturday he had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in the offseason, a procedure he said he underwent because the knee had slightly bothered him for three years, but one that won't hold him out beyond this week's voluntary minicamp.

"I had some stuff that was bothering me from years before, and I just decided to get it done," Moss said. "I mean, it's just something that happened a few years ago, and they said whenever I needed surgery to just get it done."

While the Redskins went through the second of three days of practice under Coach Mike Shanahan, Moss went through some individual drills wearing a baseball cap rather than a helmet, and he did not participate in team drills. He was reluctant to give details about the injury, deferring to the coaching staff. Shanahan also offered few specifics.

"He'll be ready to go in June, [for the] June minicamp," Shanahan said. "He's been on rehab here for about three months. I'm not going to get into the surgeries or what happened to him, but basically he got cleaned up a little bit. Had a little irritation, and should be no setbacks. Should be ready to go.""
