"If Stevie Johnson played his final game with the Buffalo Bills, it was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Johnson's end-zone frolicking got him in trouble once again, only this time it earned him a sideline view of the Bills' 49-21 loss to the New England Patriots. After scoring on an 18-yard pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick, Johnson lifted his jersey to display a T-shirt that read "Happy New Year." He was flagged for a 15-yard unsportsman-like conduct penalty.

When Johnson returned to the Bills' sideline, coach Chan Gailey told him he was out for the game.

"I didn't know it was going to draw a penalty," Johnson said. "At the end of the day what I did is what I did. I was trying to bring it in like a New Year and ultimately it hurt my teammates and that's what's hurting me the most, the fact that it hurt my team."

It adds fuel to a raging debate as the Bills enter the offseason: Should the franchise re-sign the mercurial but talented free-agent wideout or allow him to walk away and replace him with another playmaker? Johnson has made it clear he wants to remain in Buffalo, but admits the matter is out of his hands.

"I'm not going to say I'm deserving of anything and whatever happens, happens really," Johnson said. "I'm not the guy that goes out and makes guarantees and say I'm worth this much or that much. I just put in work. Wherever I go I'm going to be on the practice field and they know I'm going to work hard. That's how I got here to be in this position that I'm in, from working from Day One.""
