"Despite trainers driving him off the field on a cart Sunday, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has no plans to miss significant time because of his ankle injury.
"That's not in my DNA," Peterson said after the Vikings lost 27-21 to Oakland. "I'm going to try to get back as fast as I can and God willing, I'll be up and ready to run this weekend."
The scary image of Peterson limping off the field and heading to the training room caused a collective inhale from Vikings fans after the All-Pro running back twisted his left ankle on a 12-yard run with 57 seconds left in the first quarter. His ankle pulled backward as Raiders safety Michael Huff attempted a tackle.
Peterson relieved that tension when he appeared after halftime, still in uniform and walking without a limp. An X-ray on the ankle revealed no broken bones. "
