Adrian Peterson good to go for Sunday

"The Vikings are spiraling downward in the standings, but they are shedding names from the injury list.

Coach Leslie Frazier said Friday that Adrian Peterson will play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints at the Metrodome after the star running back missed three games because of a high ankle sprain.

Peterson and quarterback Christian Ponder (hip) fully participated in practice along with wide receiver Greg Camarillo (concussion), linebacker E.J. Henderson (shoulder) and safety Jarrad Page (hip), all of whom had been limited during the week.

"He was fine," Frazier said of Peterson, who was injured Nov. 21 against Oakland. "He went through everything today we wanted to see based on work we gave him yesterday. He's ready to go."

Peterson, who has 872 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, is 165 yards shy of breaking Robert Smith's career rushing record of 6,818 yards for Minnesota.

Defensive tackle LeTroy Guion (ankle) was the only injured Vikings player who was limited in practice. "
