"A strained left hamstring will test a weakness in third baseman Adrian Beltre.

"I have to be patient," he said. "And I'm not a patient man."

Beltre went on the disabled list Saturday after straining the left hamstring running the bases in Friday's win against Toronto. He is still experiencing a "grabbing" sensation in the damaged muscle.

Beltre is eligible to return Aug. 7 but is likely to remain out longer."
