Adam 'Pacman' Jones arrested at downtown bar; denies any wrong-doing

"For the second time since signing with the Bengals, Adam "Pacman" Jones has been involved in an incident with Cincinnati police.

The Bengals cornerback was arrested outside of the Scene Ultra Lounge bar at 2:35 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Walnut Street on one count each disorderly conduct (while intoxicated) and resisting arrest.

Peter Schaffer, Jones' agent, said that Jones was out celebrating his wife's birthday with neighbors when another female threw a punch at Jones' wife.

Schaffer said that Jones walked up to police and said that he wanted to file charges.

According to accounts from other witnesses, Schaffer said Jones became upset as the woman was walking away and police became more concerned about him.

After Jones uttered a couple of profanities at officers, police arrested Jones.

On the public-intoxication charge, Schaffer said that Jones volunteered to take a breathalyzer and that one was not given.

"He did not do anything wrong. For him to go through this is a shame. He's doing the right thing by not taking the law in his own hands," Schaffer said. "Adam has done a great job of changing his image and turning his whole life around. We will explore every possible legal action to make sure the right thing occurs."

Schaffer did not rule out looking at legal action against police.

Bengals public relations director Jack Brennan said the team had no comment about the incident and that they would let the judicial process play out.

Because of the lockout, the Bengals cannot have any contact with Jones regarding the incident. Even with a lockout in place, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has said that the personal conduct policy still applies, which means based on prior history that Jones could be facing a suspension once the lockout is lifted if found guilty."
