"Adalius Thomas draped the fur coat over his shoulders, put on his sunglasses and began to head out the door of the Patriots locker room.
Was it for the last time?
"I mean, it wouldn't be a surprise if it was," Thomas told the Herald following his team's 33-14 loss to the Ravens yesterday. "If I'm not (a Patriot), it wouldn't be a surprise. I'll leave that up to the people that (make) the decision."
It was a trying season for the linebacker, still the franchise's highest paid free agent signing. He was benched twice - once for his play against the Titans and another time for speaking out against coach Bill Belichick after Thomas was one of four players sent home for being late.
Owed $4.9 million in 2010, Thomas would cost the team an extra $3.9 million if he were to be cut. He finished the 2009 season with just 41 tackles."
