Aaron Gordon’s 2017 run in the Slam Dunk Contest left every fan disappointed after seeing the young, springy forward go toe-to-toe with then-champion Zach LaVine for one of the most memorable competitions in recent memory in the 2016 edition. But that isn’t keeping him from accepting a potential invite from the league to do it all over again in 2018, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

The Orlando Magic forward was eliminated in the first round, unable to complete his dunks, setting the stage for Glenn Robinson III of the Indiana Pacers to net the coveted Slam Dunk title.

But there is glory in failure, as Gordon has reinvented himself over the summer, putting up a career-high 18.3 points with ridiculous efficiency all across the board.
