"Pistons coach John Kuester complained about the officiating in the Rockets win Tuesday, and especially about the free throws taken by Kevin Martin.
"They got a number of calls that put them on the free-throw line a lot," Kuester said. "I'm amazed Kevin Martin got 15 free throws."
He should not be. Of Martin's 15 free throws, five were on technical fouls on the Pistons, including one on Kuester and another for illegal defense. Martin has shot at least 10 free throws in seven games this season.
Martin is third in the NBA in free-throw shooting, making 91.7 percent, and takes an average of 8.6 per game.
"That's where I live," Martin said.
Rockets guard Aaron Brooks stepped up his workouts again Wednesday, but he's uncertain when he'll be cleared to practice."
