More than just shooters, today’s NBA is full of shot makers, which explains why so many coaches are willing to let the longest ones fly.

To say pro basketball has undergone an arc overhaul is an understatement. Twelve years ago, the Boston Celtics led the league in 3-point attempts per game at 19.9. That would rank 13th this season.

The New York Knicks are on pace to launch the most 3-pointers in a season, matching the 29.0 they attempted per game last season. Houston is right there, too, at 28.7 per game.

The Rockets jacked up 46, the most by a team this season, in a Saturday night’s loss at Washington.

“I assume that’s a record,” said Stephen Curry, whose Golden State Warriors face the Indiana Pacers tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Curry’s career 3-point percentage (44.1) leads all active players.
