If the San Jose Sharks are close to acquiring Rick Nash from the Columbus Blue Jackets, Sharks captain Joe Thornton doesn't want to discuss it.

"We don't play those games," Thornton said Wednesday after the Sharks practised at the MasterCard Centre. "We play with the guys we have in here. We don't worry about what the outside (observers) are saying."

The Sharks, losers of five of their past six, have enough to concern themselves with heading into Thursday's game against the Maple Leafs.

What has led to the slump?

"We're undisciplined," Thornton said. "We can score goals, but it's the lack of defensive awareness, taking penalties at the wrong time. Little things like that are costing us right now."
