A frazzled Felix Jones waiting for a chance to blossom

"It was an uncomfortable Felix Jones who encountered reporters last week at the Dallas Cowboys' Valley Ranch training complex. He was boxed in. Sweat ran down his forehead. There was nowhere to run.Jones, a quiet sort, has said all the right things since coming to Dallas as the 22nd pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. And the former Arkansas running back was trying to choose his words carefully. With a matchup today against the Tennessee Titans, Jones knew the inevitable comparisons to running back Chris Johnson were coming.Johnson, picked 24th in 2008, has not only outperformed Jones but he might be the league's best back. Johnson is the league's reigning rushing champion after gaining 2,006 yards in 2009, becoming only the sixth player in NFL history to run for more than 2,000 yards.Jones, on the other hand, is the No. 2 option in a three-man rotation in Dallas with starter Marion Barber and Tashard Choice. And while Johnson is a superstar who is the focal point of the Titans' offense and arguably the league's most explosive player, Jones languishes as an underutilized bit player in Dallas. He has had his moments, with a career average of 6.1 yards per carry, but he gets an average of just 10.3 touches per game as a runner, receiver and kick returner."
