76ers' Andre Iguodala guards Heat's Dwyane Wade and LeBron James in Game 1

"Sometimes you say too much.

During the closing minutes of Saturday's Game 1, 76ers coach Doug Collins put Philadelphia's premier defender, Andre Iguodala, on Dwyane Wade rather than LeBron James. That actually left skinny, 6-foot-4 point guard Jrue Holiday on the sturdy, 6-foot-8 James in several situations.

"We tried to give them a different look than the first three quarters to see how it went," Iguodala said.

Yet Wade wasn't surprised.

"I read the clips," Wade said. "I knew that he said that he was going to guard LeBron some and guard me some. Right now, during the playoffs, I'm reading everything. I'm on overload."

Dampier doesn't suit up: Erick Dampier started 22 consecutive games through April 6.

Saturday, he was in a suit, and not because of injury.

The way the Heat rotation has gone this season, that shouldn't shock anyone.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said the speed of the 76ers compelled him to deactivate Dampier, along with rookie Dexter Pittman and the still-recovering Udonis Haslem (foot). Instead, he dressed Juwan Howard and Jamaal Magloire, neither the fleetest of foot. Neither played. Nor did Eddie House, who scored 35 points as the starters sat out the season finale in Toronto.

Mike Miller played just three minutes and missed three shots, each of which nearly went down. He slammed his sore left thumb on the floor, but he said after the game that he could play in Game 2."
