Ohio State has been hot on the basketball recruiting trail this week, having already landed verbal commitments from 4-star forward Jaedon LeDee and 3-star guard Duane Washington Jr. Chris Holtmann’s program received its third verbal commitment of the week Friday evening, as Jersey City, N.J., product Luther Muhammad announced that he will attend Ohio State.

The 6-foot-4 Muhammad, who attends Hudson Catholic HS, played for the New York Rens on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer. Ohio State, which hosted Muhammad for an official visit the weekend of the football team’s game against Oklahoma, beat out St. John’s, Virginia, West Virginia and Xavier for Muhammad’s verbal commitment. Also taking an official visit that weekend was the aforementioned LeDee.

On the Nike EYBL circuit, Luther Muhammad averaged 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, shooting 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.
