Thursday afternoon Northwestern received its second verbal commitment in the 2018 class, as 6-foot-8 4-star forward Pete Nance announced that he will play for head coach Chris Collins. Nance made his pledge shortly after his official visit to Northwestern, tweeting out a photo in which he’s joined by the coaching staff and wearing a Northwestern uniform.

Nance joins 4-star point guard Jordan Lathon in the Wildcats’ 2018 class. The former has the bloodlines to lead one to believe that he’ll be a good contributor down the line. Pete is the son of former Cleveland Cavaliers forward Larry Nance, and older brother Larry Jr. currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Nance attends Revere High School in Richfield, Ohio, and he’s ranked 64th nationally by 247Sports.com. One of the top prospects in Ohio, Nance held offers from programs such as Michigan, Ohio State, West Virginia and Florida.
