The San Francisco 49ers have played in three straight NFC Championship games along with a Super Bowl appearance in 2013.

Needless to say, they’re doing things correctly in the front office which starts off with general manager Trent Baalke who has turned the legendary franchise back into an NFL powerhouse.

How has he done it? Well, there have been some smooth trades and stealthy signings, but he’s built San Francisco up through the draft – by selecting players with long arms? Yep. Long arms.

Baalke recently told the Sacramento Bee he likes to acquire players with length.

And if there’s one thing that’s been clear in the four years Baalke has run the 49ers’ draft, it’s that he prefers long arms.

“I like long arms,” Baalke said Friday. “Last year’s draft should tell you that. Length’s important. It’s important in any sport.”
