In reporting that then-Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier was leaving the Tide for the same position at Michigan , CBSSports.com's Bruce Feldman wrote in January that the Wolverines had made "a robust financial commitment to Nussmeier" that would make him one of "the five highest-paid coordinators in college football."

Nussmeier's salary, released to the media by Michigan Tuesday after requests from MLive.com and other outlets, may not quite reach that top-five benchmark. But "robust" has proven to be an accurate assessment after the Wolverines boosted Nussmeier's annual Alabama salary by nearly $200,000.

Per MLive.com, Nussmeier has signed a three-year, $2.57 million contract that will pay him at least $830,000 in 2014, $860,000 in 2015 and $880,000 in 2016. Nussmeier is also eligible for several bonuses, including a $200,000 loyalty bonus if he coaches through the end of the deal.
