If things go well...

The Trail Blazers are certainly a team headed in the right direction. Last season they were a decent team who struggled at times in a very difficult conference. Their major flaw last season was rotation depth. Now, in 13/14, they still have a very strong starting five and have added several pieces to their bench. In the starting lineup every night will be LaMarcus Aldridge, Nic Batum, Damian Lillard, and Robin Lopez with a very strong rotation featuring Mo Williams, Earl Watson, Thomas Robinson, C.J. McCollum, Dorell Wright, Allen Crabbe, and Meyers Leonard. They will fight hard for the #2 spot in the Northwest with (most likely) Minnesota.

If things go poorly...

The Blazers will be fun to watch, but will they be able to compete in the very strong Western conference? Lillard was dynamic last season, but he will need to advance ever further in order for this team to compete for a playoff spot. Was 12/13 the ceiling for Damian? Some think so. Another issue on this roster could be Aldridge and his commitment (or lack of) to Portland. A few weeks into the season we could start seeing more complaining and in-fighting which will lead to trade rumors and a likely exit. Talented player...but how much can the Blazers' front office take.
