If things go well...
If things go well for the Timberwolves they will finish second in the Northwest division and they will make the playoffs. We don't think they have visions of sugar-plums and finishing higher than the Thunder dancing in their head. Kevin Love is an elite NBA player and Ricky Rubio is poised to build off his awesome 2nd half to last season. Love will also have fun playing the high-low game with Nikola Pekovic. The additions of Kevin Martin, Muhammad, and Dieng are upgrades over last season, but will not be enough to push this team into the upper-echelon of the Western conference. A playoff spot is the goal...a #6 or #7 seed is a bonus.
If things go poorly...
Defense, depth, and heath. Kevin Love will have to have near 100% attendance for this team to get where they want to be. Nearly every moment of their game-plan will revolve around him. On the defensive side of the court the Timberwolves could have a "turnstile D" and will have to put up huge numbers to compete with the other powers in the West. Depth will be a problem and they will rely heavily on the Rubio/Love/Pekovic threesome to take them a long way. The floor is probably 40-43 wins.
