The owner of a Texas sports bar is seeking more than $1 million in damages from Bears defense tackle Henry Melton because he says Melton bit him and drew blood during a brawl in December.

Police in Grapevine, Texas, charged Melton with misdemeanor assault and public intoxication after the incident three days before Christmas at the Chill Restaurant and Bar near Fort Worth, Texas.

According to a lawsuit filed in Tarrant County, Donald Payne, the bar owner, alleged Melton was asked to leave after repeatedly telling bartenders he was a millionaire and they were “nothing but poor white trash.”

Payne said he instructed Melton to leave the bar but instead the former Pro Bowler punched him, according to the suit.
