Alabama assistant coach Mike Locksley’s son Meiko died Sunday night after he was shot in Columbia, Maryland, according to an ABC2News.com report.

Per the report, Meiko Anthony Locksley, 25, was found by police with gunshot wounds at about 10:30 p.m. on the 5500 block of Harpers Farm Road and was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died.

"Mike Locksley, our wide receivers coach and assistant offensive coordinator, [has a] family tragedy - his son was killed,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said at a Monday press conference. “I just want everybody to understand our thoughts and prayers go out to Mike, Kia and the entire Lockley family, and we’ll do everything we can to support Mike and his family in this time of tragedy.”
