Caution is getting in the way of comfort for cornerback Tim Jennings.

Once again Thursday, Jennings tapered his amount of snaps toward the end of practice to protect his sore quadriceps.

Jennings — who said his limited snaps went well — would rather be on the field adjusting to his new role at nickel back.

“I’m trying to work my way back in to get some nickel reps,” he said at Olivet Nazarene University. “I don’t want to put too much on it because I might pull it.”

Jennings said he had to be smart about his quad.

“Because you feel good at the start of practice,” he said, “and sometimes you might aggravate it or reaggravate it.”

Jennings said he was able to study the position — in which he moves inside while rookie Kyle Fuller plays outside — from the sideline.

“I like [nickel back],” he said. “Let’s see if I can get a feel for it.

“I was more comfortable at corner, so now you have to get more comfortable at nickel and be comfortable at both.”
