Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta underwent successful shoulder surgery today, it was announced by interim general manager Jason Botterill.
Maatta had shoulder labral repair surgery performed by Dr. Mark Rodosky at UPMC. Recovery time is expected to be 4-6 months.
Maatta recently completed his rookie campaign with Pittsburgh, notching 29 points (9G-20A) in 78 regular-season games and four helpers in 13 postseason contests.
