Wichita State associate head coach Chris Jans has accepted an offer to become New Mexico State's next head coach, a source told CBS Sports on Monday.

A formal announcement is expected soon.

A press conference is tentatively scheduled for later Monday.

Jans agreed to a four-year contract that will average $275,000 a year plus incentives, a source told CBS Sports. The 48-year-old was previously the head coach at Bowling Green, where he went 21-12 in 2014-15 before being fired when a video of him acting inappropriately toward a woman in a bar was given to school officials.
