Luis Suarez will see his £10million-a-year Barcelona pay packet slashed by up to £3m if he tries to bite a chunk out of another opponent, writes Tom Hopkinson in the Sunday People.

The Uruguayan became the most expensive signing in the Catalan giants’ history when he completed his move from Liverpool on Friday, agreeing a £200,000-a-week, five-year deal at the Nou Camp.

Liverpool say Barcelona paid the £75m they wanted for the 27-year-old, but the La Liga side claim the figure was 80m Euros – £61m.

His salary makes Suarez the fourth highest-paid player at the club behind Lionel Messi, Neymar and Andres Iniesta, but he will drop a long way behind if there is any repeat of the shameful biting antics that have landed him in hot water three times
