The Florida Gators, a day after receiving a commitment from the No. 2-ranked quarterback in the country, added more offensive firepower to the 2018 recruiting class with a pledge from Ja’Marr Chase.

Chase, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound pass catcher out of Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel High, will give the Gators a stretch receiver that they sorely need, but Chase does far more than just run the field.

Chase announced his decision via his Twitter account, @10jayy__ .

He’s a strong blocker and also gifted with the ball after the catch. He also runs back kicks for Rummel.

Chase was recruited to UF by linebackers coach Tim Skipper, who was also instrumental in pulling gifted quarterback Matt Corral into the fold. Corral committed Saturday and the Gators have had quite a frenzied past five days of recruiting with six pledges to the 2018 class since Tuesday. UF also landed one 2019 commitment to make seven commitments this week.
