Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed defenseman Cameron Gaunce to a one-year contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gaunce, 24, skated in nine regular-season games with Dallas this season, posting nine shots, seven penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating. Gaunce spent the majority of the season with the Texas Stars (AHL). The Markham, Ontario native led Texas defensemen with a +15 rating, and registered 18 points (3-15=18) in 65 regular-season AHL contests. Gaunce posted four assists and a +6 rating in 18 Calder Cup Playoffs games during the postseason, in helping Texas win the Calder Cup Championship.
