KEY MOMENT: Already down two runs, Tampa Bay starter Cesar Ramos opened the second inning by hitting Luis Jimenez and giving up a single to Collin Cowgill. By the end of the inning, both runners had scored to give the Angels a 4-0 lead, and Ramos was out of the game.

AT THE PLATE: Grant Green slugged a two-run home run off Rays reliever Brandon Gomes in the third inning after Chris Iannetta had doubled, widening the Angels' lead to 6-0. Albert Pujols hit a run-scoring ground-rule double in the second inning, his first run batted in since May 6.

ON THE MOUND: Left-hander C.J. Wilson (5-3, 3.16 ERA) threw a shutout while holding Tampa Bay to five hits. It was Wilson's first complete game since Sept. 6, 2011, when he also shut out the Rays while pitching for the Texas Rangers.

ON THE FIELD: The Rays mounted a threat in the seventh inning when they loaded the bases with one out. But Wilson got first baseman James Loney to ground into a double play.
