When Campolindo High's Tyler Petite visited Duke, he was reminded of his high school program.
That connection was one of the biggest reasons that Petite, one of the top-rated tight ends on the West Coast, committed to the Blue Devils on Wednesday morning over USC.
"At Campolindo, we're not a big powerhouse sort of football school but we figure out ways to win games," Petite said. "We have an emphasis on family and that's basically what I felt at Duke."
Petite, who is 6-foot-5 and 226 pounds, also had strong interest in Stanford, Northwestern, Washington and Vanderbilt.
