Barcelona have endured a tumultuous spell over the last two weeks. And that would be putting it lightly.

The Catalan giants have seen their Champions League campaign come to an end at the quarterfinal stage at the hands of Atletico Madrid, while also dropping four points off the pace in the La Liga table and losing in the final of the Copa del Rey to bitter rivals Real Madrid.

Thursday, things went from bad to worse.

The club announced that Brazilian attacker Neymar will be out of action for four weeks after suffering a left foot contusion in the aforementioned contest against Real Madrid.

Neymar, 22, has scored nine goals in 25 league matches this season, but has spent various spells on the sidelines with different ailments - the most severe until this point being an ankle problem that forced him to miss eight games.

The club added that, should his recovery go smoothly, he may be available to play in the final game of the season on May 18 against title rivals Atletico.
