Look at this cute, bright-eyed, Brazilian 1-year-old girl. She's just hanging out in the kitchen having a nice conversation with her mother. However, the tone changes rather quickly once her mother drops the bomb on her about Neymar's back injury.
The Brazilian superstar suffered a fractured vertebrae during the team's quarterfinal victory over Colombia and will, obviously, miss the remainder of the 2014 World Cup.
This little girl's reaction sums up the feelings of every Brazilian soccer fan.
Not everyone is of the belief that the injury was accidental including retired Brazilian legend Ronaldo. During an interview published by the Associated Press Ronaldo voiced his opinion that the Colombian players targeted Neymar.
“I didn’t like that very high knee so that leads me to believe it was a foul with intention to actually cause harm. I thought it was a highly violent and unlawful move by the Colombia player, but that is not important any more. We are fearful and sad for the loss of our player.”
It was definitely a hard knee to the lower back of the Brazilian, but it looked to me as if Zuniga was competing for the ball. Looked like a fair challenge and an unfortunate result.
