We still have a long way to go to catch up with the Asian leagues when it comes to ceremonial first pitches prior to professional baseball games, but Friday night was a step in the right direction.

On Thursday night we presented to you the dude with no arms throwing out the first pitch with his feet...very impressive stuff.

On Friday night there were a pair of interesting performances.

First, Olympic gold and silver medalist (and Instagram superstar) McKayla Maroney got into the gymnastics spirit with a couple of flips before tossing a 20-foot pitch at Chicago's U.S. Cellular Field.

At Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, actor Jeff Bridges channeled his iconic character "The Dude" from 'The Big Lebowski' with a bowling first pitch. He then broke etiquette by requesting and throwing a second pitch the conventional way.

This scene was stolen by acting catcher Brian Wilson of the Dodgers who, for some unknown reason, was wearing a jacket with a hoodie underneath (and the hood up) in 85 degree weather in Los Angeles. Wilson just does things to be weird and I can only assume that this is no exception.
